I'm Vitelle, and before Us3 Productions was a company, it was my testimony. I grew up in Dayton, Ohio, as the girl who would steal the show every chance she got. But behind the stage presence was a life with real pain in it. I've lived through depression, abuse, human trafficking, and thoughts of suicide. I know firsthand what it is to be in a place where you can't see your way out.
The stage is where I learned to tell the truth. I built my career in Kentucky, then moved to Atlanta in 2009 to chase the dream all the way. Since then I've spent more than 20 years on sets and stages, in films and TV like Tyler Perry's Good Deeds and I Can Do Bad All By Myself, Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva, Reggie Price's Just Us, and as Shonda Wesson on TPN's Flags on the Field. But the role that changed me was my own. In 2013 I wrote, directed, and starred in The Face of Homeless, and for the first time my career and my calling became the same thing.
Then I started writing it down. I Am: A Poetic Ensemble (2020) is my life in poems, the hard parts included, because healing starts when someone is brave enough to say "me too." Nine Lives: A Walk of Faith carries that journey of faith from the page to the stage. My memoir, The Homeless System, tells the story of a family that was homeless but never hopeless. It's coming soon. When I speak at churches, schools, and community events, I share the same story: you can survive what was meant to break you and turn it into something that heals.
Helping people was never separate from the art. In 2010 my family and I started the Feed the Homeless Tour, serving people in need from state to state while we traveled for work. In 2022 I founded Us3 Productions to bring all of it under one roof with one purpose: healing and changing the world through the arts, from film and stage to music, dance, poetry and beyond. Every show we create comes out of real testimony, made for healing and deliverance, not just entertainment.
Us3 carries the company name, but it's still personal, and it's still me. Come see a show, read the books, or sit with me one-on-one through Us3 Connections virtual sessions and membership. However you found your way here, I'm glad you did. Let's stay connected.
